Euro 2024 – Turkey vs Georgia | Match Info, Preview & Lineup

Group F at Euro 2024 kicks off on Tuesday evening in Dortmund with a crucial match between Turkey and Georgia. Portugal and the Czech Republic are also in this group, and while Portugal is the clear favorite to top the table, the other three teams are vying for the second spot. 

Turkey has faced some setbacks, losing Enes Unal, Caglar Soyuncu, and Ozan Kabak to injuries. Additionally, Dogan Alemdar, Cenk Ozkacar, Berat Ozdemir, Can Uzun, Abdulkadir Omur, and Oguz Aydin were cut from the preliminary squad.

Kerem Akturkoglu, who has scored five goals in 29 appearances for Turkey, will start in the attack. Juventus’ Kenan Yildiz is expected to play in the number 10 role, likely behind Baris Alper Yilmaz. 
Merih Demiral is set to start in central defense, while Hakan Calhanoglu will captain the team from midfield. Real Madrid’s Arda Guler is also expected to start, having impressed at the club level last season.

For Georgia, Solomon Kvirkvelia is expected to recover from an injury to start in defense, with Giorgi Gvelesiani on standby. Otar Kiteishvili should be fit to play in midfield after an injury scare against Montenegro.

Georges Mikautadze, with 10 goals in 25 appearances, will lead the attack alongside Kvaratskhelia. Jaba Kankava was replaced in the squad by Gabriel Sigua, and the 18-year-old could make his second national team appearance in this match.
