Short videos, on the other hand, are not for everyone. People who want specific information are frequently on the search for detailed clips.

It was unexpected for YouTube to release short films. This isn't even the worst part. The Explore option was removed from the platform to make room for these short video. YouTube first launched this feature in India in September 2020, but its popularity quickly grew, and the platform soon expanded to include shorts for the US audience as well as the rest of the world.

If you find these brief films irritating, we've come up with a few simple methods for deleting or blocking them on YouTube.

Let's take a brief look at what YouTube shorts are and why they're becoming so popular before we get into the advice.

What are YouTube Shorts?
YouTube Shorts is a new feature that allows users to create and submit short films (15 seconds or less) to YouTube, as the name indicates. You might submit small clips captured with your camera or produce videos straight on YouTube. You may add a sound effect to it to make it more engaging. Users may put music in their films since YouTube has agreements with music businesses, which is an essential component of any short-video platform.

If you've ever seen or uploaded YouTube shorts, you'll notice that these short movies resemble TikTok's short clips.

We recognize that shorts aren't for everyone. And these movies are being posted in big quantities every day. However, there is a catch: not everyone appreciates these brief movies, which may be incredibly irritating to watch and cause users to become frustrated.

So, what's the best way to get rid of YouTube Shorts? Is there anything you can do to get them off YouTube?

YoSinBlogs will show you how to permanently delete or remove shorts from YouTube in this post.
Let's get started without further ado.

1. Turn off Shorts in YouTube's settings.
Click the profile button at the top to get to YouTube Settings. Then, from the settings menu, go to General and turn off the shorts toggle. It will deactivate YouTube's Shorts function. When you restart the YouTube app, the Shorts video option will be gone.

Important Note: The toggle option to turn on/off Shorts is presently only available for a small number of users, since YouTube is promoting the Shorts feature and encouraging people to utilize it in order to compete with TikTok, Reels, and other apps.

2. Get rid of it YouTube's official home page
YouTube is attempting to provide each user with a unique experience. In order to do this, viewers can designate videos as "Not Interested" if they do not want comparable films to appear in their feed. You may use this method to label all of the short video clips on YouTube as "Not Interested." Here's how to go about it:

  • Go to YouTube.
  • In the upper right corner of the video, click the three vertical dots.
  • Choose "Not Interested."
  • The video will be deleted from the front page of YouTube.
  • If you do that for the first few brief clips, all of the movies will vanish. Even after refreshing the home page, these films will no longer appear on your page.

3. Access YouTube from your browser
The procedure outlined above is effective, although it is time-consuming. The user may become irritated if every short clip is removed off the main page. The good news is that this new function is now only available on the mobile app. The video is not available on YouTube. Browsing the YouTube app in the browser is the simplest approach to prevent the short snippets when using YouTube.

4. Downgrade the version of the YouTube app
The new short video clip function is supported by the most recent app version. So, if you haven't updated YouTube yet, don't bother. You can downgrade the program from your App Settings if you have downloaded the updated version. To put it another way, you must use the factory version of YouTube to avoid this upgrade. Here's how you can do it.

Select the "app details" option by long-pressing the YouTube app on your home screen. Remove YouTube from your computer. So there you have it! It does not remove YouTube, but it does erase all of the updates you have downloaded. This function is useful for anyone who wants to utilize YouTube without the shorts appearing on the home screen, although it isn't the most practical solution. You will be prompted to install YouTube updates on a regular basis.
