James Anderson and Ollie Robinson bowled a devastating spell that limited India to 78 points. On the first day of the third Test match, England took a 42-run lead thanks to unbroken half-centuries from Rory Burns and Haseeb Hameed.

India's 78 was their lowest first-innings total in a Test series, and it was also their lowest first-innings total on English soil in Tests; the previous lowest being 96 at Lord's in 1979.


On day two of the third Test match, England built a big 345-run lead courtesy to Joe Root's record-breaking century and Dawid Malan's half-century.


After England took a 354-run lead in their first innings on day 3 of the third Test match, India stayed in the game largely of Cheteshwar Pujara, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli's brilliance.

In 40.4 overs, India's first innings scored 78 for all-out, with Rohit Sharma (19) and Ajinkya Rahane (18) scoring the most runs.

England's first innings scored 432 for all-out in 132.2 overs, with Joe Root top-scoring with 121 off 165 balls, his 23rd Test century, and ninth against India in Tests, with 14 fours.

Mohammad Shami, India's finest bowler, grabbed 4-wickets for 95 runs in 28 overs, including eight maidens, while Mohammad Siraj, Ravindra Jadeja, and Jasprit Bumrah each got 2-wickets.


India's second innings scored 278 for all-out in 99.3 overs, with Cheteshwar Pujara top-scoring with 91 off 189 balls, including 15 fours, Rohit Sharma 59, Virat Kohli 55, and Ravindra Jadeja 30.

2nd Innings: Ollie Robinson, England's finest bowler, grabbed a career-best 5-wicket haul for 65 runs in 26 overs, including six maidens, Craig Overton took 3-wickets, and Moeen Ali - James Anderson took one.

Ollie Robinson was selected Player of the Match for his outstanding bowling performance, which included seven wickets in a match.
