3-wickets haul from Akila Dananjaya and Praveen Jayawickrama and 109-run partnership from Avishka Fernando and Bhanuka Rajapaksa including half-century from each helped Sri Lanka 3-wickets victory over India via DLS method and saved 3-ODI match series from whitewash defeat.
India scored 225 runs for all wickets down in 43.1 overs with a top score of 49 runs off 29 deliveries including 8-fours with a strike rate of 100.00 from opener Prithvi Shaw.
Debutant Sanju Samson smashed 46 runs off 46-balls including 5-fours and a six, Surya Kumar Yadav scored 40 runs off 37-balls including 7-fours with a strike rate of 108.11, and Hardik Pandya 19 of 17-balls.
India lost their last 7-wickets for 68 runs, becomes the sixth-worst collapse for 7-wickets against hosts in ODI.
Sri Lankan bowler Akila Dananjaya, Praveen Jayawickrama claimed 3-wickets each for 59 runs and 44 runs respectively in 10 overs, Dushmantha Chameera took 2-wickets for 55 runs in 8.1 overs and each one wicket by Chamika Karunaratne and Dasun Shanaka.
Sri Lanka chased 227 runs in 39 overs and saved from whitewash defeat by 2-1 in the 3-ODI series, with a top score of 76 runs off 98-balls including 4-fours and a six with a strike rate of 77.55 from Avishka Fernando.
Bhanuka Rajapaksa hammered 65 runs off 56-balls including 12-fours with a strike rate of 116.07, Charith Asalanka scored 24 off 28-balls including 3-fours and Ramesh Mendis 15 runs not out.
Avishka Fernando and Bhanuka Rajapaksa set up a partnership of 109 runs, which becomes the tenth highest second-wicket partnership for Sri Lanka against India in ODI and Sri Lanka's third-highest second-wicket partnership against India at their home venue in ODIs.
Indian debutant bowler Rahul Chahar claimed 3-wickets for 54-runs in 10 overs, Chetan Sakariya claimed 2-wickets for 34 runs, debutant Krishnappa Gowtham and Hardik Pandya took one wicket each for 49 runs and 43 runs respectively.
Avishka Fernando named Man of the Match for his stunning performance of 76 runs off 98-balls including 4-fours and a six with a strike rate of 77.55.
Surya Kumar Yadav named Man of the Series for his incredible contribution of 124-runs including a half-century with an average of 62 in 3-ODI Matches.
